Step Two: Obtain Your Learner's Permit
Once the student has successfully completed the Virtual Drive Preparatory Course and are of eligible driving age, they may obtain their Learner's Permit. The student must complete a vision screening, as well as, a comprehensive driver knowledge test through their local DMV office.
Step Three: Obtain Your Driver's License
For Teens Drivers:
Once receiving their learner’s permit, the student driver is now eligible to receive at least 6 hours of in-car training with a certified driving instructor. See your driver handbook in your Learner’s Permit Preparatory Course for your specific in-car training requirements.
In addition, the student will complete at least 30-50+ hours of supervised driving with their parent or legal guardian while they hold their permit.
Once the student has held their permit for the required amount of time, they are now eligible to get their driver’s license through their local DMV office.
For Adults:
The temporary permit holder is now eligible to drive with a licensed adult driver in the passenger seat. Once the student has received adequate training and is comfortable behind-the-wheel, the student can schedule an in-car driving test at their local DMV office and receive their license. |
